After Two Mishaps, Bears poised for CIAA Play

The football season is a make or break time for the hardworking Bears. Recent losses to Division 1-AA Elon, and perennial Division II powerhouse Catawba left the Bears with another opportunity to think about the possible stakes by the end of the season.

With the CIAA-Conference play beginning this Saturday at Elizabeth City, Head Coach Darrell Asberry’s message to his team was clear, “We need to make sure Catawba doesn’t beat us two weeks in a row,” said Asberry. “And we need to get healthy.”

For the Bears, the future appears to be bright, as former All-CIAA Defensive End Demarcus Roberson returns this weekend to help the Bears take on the Vikings. Kickoff for this Saturday’s game at ECSU is 2:00 p.m.
