The concern is whether students use these networking sites for professional networking at all. Chaz Parks, a sophomore Computer Information Systems major, says, “I currently put up a professional page and used it to market myself and prepare for my future career, its kind of like having an electronic resume.” Similarly, A lot of businesses use skype, facebook, and twitter to market and give prominence to their business.

As college students, everyone could use this new social “fad” as an opportunity to promote and get recognized by people with the same educational and professional goals. Colleges and jobs are now looking up to students on these sites to check out images, read blogs and statuses.
