Homecoming Step Show

The homecoming step show was held on Friday night at the Progress Energy Center in the Memorial Auditorium. The host for the night was famous comedian B-Phlat. Although the show was running a little behind, the DJ and host kept the atmosphere fun for everyone.

The Deltas were the first to step, followed by the Zetas, AKAs and then the SGRhos. Each organization had a time limit of 12 minutes to put on their best performance while sticking to theme of “Flavor with an Old School Touch.” All of the sororities chose creative show themes such as escaping from a mental hospital in the 60’s to taking it back to the b-boy era of the 80’s.

After the sororities, the crowd was entertained by musical artist Chrisette Michele. She performed some of her well known past hits, along with her newest song, “Baby I’m a Star”, which is the first single off of her new album, “Let Freedom Reign”, which drops November 30th of this year.

The faternities were next to perform once Chrisette was finished. The first to step were the Iotas, followed by the Sigmas, Omegas, Kappas and then lastly the Alphas.

Midway through the faternities performance the crowd enjoyed another musical performance, this time by Busta Rhymes. Busta Rhymes kept with the theme of the night and performed old school and new school hits.

After all the performances the Alpha Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta and the Beta Rho Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha were announced as the 2010 Step Show Champions.
