Sherri Fillingham, Sports Information Director, has a lot on her plate! Ensuring that the games are properly covered includes intense details of pre-match and post-match planning on coverage. She must create the Post Season Media Guide for the 2010-2011 men’s and women’s basketball team. She’s preparing for a long day before leaving to Charlotte for the CIAA. The Saturday before CIAA games begin, she must wait to submit final stats of the last men’s game to enter into the media guide before final print. She does have a volunteer, who is a graduate of Shaw University, to help her with the social media aspect of the CIAA. He would be assisting with updating fans via Twitter and other media outlets. Mrs. Fillingham is hoping he’s make it to help with the media guide as well. She’s always looking for volunteers, but it’s definitely too late to volunteer for the CIAA this year. She works in conjunction with other SID’s from other schools to split the workload. They all have a specific section of the events they cover for all teams. Her contribution to the event will be to take pictures of all the games, for all teams. She will also write the stories for our men and women’s teams.
