Raleigh, NC – (September 18, 2008) The Lady Bears of Shaw University met a great opponent in Fayetteville State tonight at C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium. Fighting until the end, the Lady Bears loss in three matches 17-25, 16-25, 10-25. Nikita Grant (SO/5’5/Parktown, NC) had an amazing performance with 7 kills and 11 digs. Monica Grimmage (FR/6’0/Georgetown, SC) had six kills and eight digs. Ashley Johnson t(FR/5’6/Garfield Heights, OH) tossed in seven digs for the team total of 34. Nia Bailey (FR/5’4/Shaker Heights, OH) had 21 assists for the Lady Bears. The Lady Bears will take on Lincoln University on Saturday, September 20th at 10:00 a.m. at C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
