Love-A-Fair 2011 State Fair
North Carolina State Fair had another awesome turn out this year. With over a million people in attendance. Maybe because the love was in the 'air'; well that was the theme of this year's North Carolina State Fair, 'A-Love-Fair'.
The Fair officially started on Thursday October 13, 2011 and ended on Sunday October 23, 2011. The 10 day long event had everything anyone could ask from the ages of one to ninety-nine. Everyone would be able to find a way to enjoy themselves.
The North Carolina State Fair has been around since 1850 and still going strong with the record breaking attendance continued this year and showed in numbers. Food Lion Hunger Relief was on Thursday and many individuals came out to donate four cans of food for a free admission into the fair. Each year the state Fair has a day dedicated to raising awareness about Hunger Relief Day. The Hunger Relief Day has been going on for sixteen years and this year was no different. People from all over showed with four cans.
Many Children are anxious about attending the Fair their are so many things for them to do. The fair has a side setup just for the children to enjoy themselves. They children can go to the petting zoo inside the state Fair Grounds and pet the animals. They all types of food for the kids to play including cotton candy and candy apples.
There are many ways that you can arrive at the State Fair grounds. The best option for many people is to take Capital Area Transit bus to the Fair Grounds. The Cat Bus worked around the clock to make sure individuals attended the fair. The Fare to the bus was $4 round trip ticket. The bus operated on the Fair scheduled hours stating at 8:30 a. m. until midnight. The bus dropped patrons off at Gate 1, along Hillsborough Street.
This year goes to show that you can enjoy yourself in the State of North Carolina. For over 100 years the State Fair has been held. Many individuals attend the Fair every year some do it once and others make it a yearly event. Whatever the occasion maybe make sure that you don't miss out next year on the North Carolina State Fair.
