The Shaw University student leaders were treated to a fun, challenging but educative getaway in Black Mountain, NC. The Student Leadership Institute was organized by the Student Affairs director, Ms. Ebony Johnson and attended by the Student Government Association (S. G. A), amongst other student leaders at the University.
Shaw University Transportation Department has added two new buses, bringing the school's total bus transportation fleet to nine buses. The sleek new additions are a welcome gift to the athletics department, and they also increase the carrying capacity in the event of an evacuation.
On Saturday, November 5, 2011 the band performed at its last game of the season against St. Augustine's College. The game turned out to be a joyous occasion and a great bang to end the season, the football team beat the opponents 20-16.
