The first thing I tell others when they express feeling as if those in their life don't fully understand them is that it's probably because those in their life don't fully understand them. There is a gap between the fact that there is ‘nothing new under sun' and how different people experience the same ole stuff.
Fairy tales are often accused of painting false hope. However, many of the fairy tales I have read tell stories of triumph over injustice, and the characters are just as flawed as us.
