After obtaining my BA in Spanish, I moved to Latin America, joining the US Peace Corps, where I served in the Education sector. There, I developed a Spanish-language literacy intervention for low-performing readers. Some of my students improved as much as 40 and 50%. I also formed a professional development program to enhance the teaching practices of public educators.
