Born in Spokane, WA, I came to North Carolina to attend Wake Forest University, double-majoring in English and music, with honors in piano performance. I decided to combine the two disciplines and pursue a degree in musicology after spending a year in the Czech Republic and falling in love with the music history in Prague. I have taught piano both privately and at the university level, working with students of all ages.
