According to an article from Bloomberg Business Week, in a pole based on metrics like school performance, green space, and cultural amenities Raleigh, NC was recently named the best city in America. This would come as no news to the residents of the swiftly growing, but when ranked number 1 compared to bigger cities such as New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles this is a biggie. An experience in Downtown Raleigh is like no other. It is a place that puts you in that "awe" moment in your life that you will never forget. Downtown Raleigh brings laughter, fun, great food, different cultures, and tons of entertainment. This is a place where the lights will capture your heart and enjoyment will take your breath away. Also there will be a silent auction, and a raffle drawing for the grand prize of a new car! Along with that great prize will also be a food drive to give to the local food pantry. Once you have gotten enough Greek in your system you can try attending one of the many great theater plays that Downtown Raleigh has, such as Black and White Swan. This play will be held in the Progress Energy of Performing Arts Theater, and the ticket cost will run you around $30-$75. This play will only be available this weekend so you better hurry before the black swan hunts you for not coming to see her. DUN! DUN! DUN!

On a more sporty note you should support your local football team if you're a NC State fan and join the screaming crowd at the Carter Finley Stadium when the rival against Alabama State University on this weekend. The R-Line is a fantastic bus that runs every 10-15 minutes and it only runs downtown! And get this; the R-Line is totally FREE! So the next time you need to find a restaurant your friend was drooling over or a gallery that you read in a magazine; just look for the little R sign on the downtown Raleigh streets and they will guide you there.
